In February, a volunteer team of WordPress developers spent 48 hours launching new websites for nine small businesses in Detroit to help add visibility to the city’s rising economy.

Hajj Flemings, founder of Brand Camp University and Rebrand Detroit, wrote about what inspired the creation of the Detroit Hackathon for in April:

“Sixty-two percent of businesses don’t have websites at all because they think it’s irrelevant to their business, and the development costs prove to be a barrier for entry.”

We wanted to capture more of the powerful insights from business owners who participated in the Hackathon, so we created a new video series with their stories. Among them was M. Kay Willingham, owner of Art in Motion, who shared that “success is making others happy and seeing the result of their happiness”:
